The research investigates authentic autistic play for successful inclusion of autistic pupils within a play-based curriculum in Scottish schools. Authentic play for autistic children is a vital part of childhood and a fundamental human right, but can often be misunderstood and misinterpreted.

Registered teachers in Scotland who are currently engaging in a play pedagogy with their class, and have at least one autistic child in their class, can also take advantage of a free professional learning programme about authentic autistic play. All teachers who take part in the full programme can receive a bonus subscription for online resources, as well as access to a large volume of hints and tips!
